Join us as we delve into the journeys, creative processes, and projects of two up-and-coming filmmakers, Aretha Greatrix and Roger Boyer. You'll have the opportunity to ask your burning questions and gain unique insights into the world of filmmaking.


Aretha Greatrix, Ready Up Productions Inc.

Aretha is James Bay Cree from Keshechewan First Nation (Albany Band) but born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. She has been working in film since 2014, producing her first film on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada and Residential Schools. Aretha has entered multiple films in festivals around the world as well as working with Dreamspeakers Festival Society in multiple capacities, including becoming Program Director to program the annual Dreamspeakers International Film Festival. Aretha continues to work as a filmmaker and in both roles, she mentors other filmmakers in filmmaking sharing what she has learned from her experience and knowledge from her own mentors.



Roger Boyer, KOJB Films

Roger Boyer is an Indigenous filmmaker based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Passionate about filmmaking, he has produced, written, directed over 15 music videos, short documentaries, and short films.


Many of these have screened at numerous film festivals around the world, including the American Indian Film Festival, imagineNATIVE Film Festival, the Accra Indie Film Festival, the Native Spirit Film Festival, and the Gimli Film Festival.


Roger is a recent graduate of Capilano University’s “Filmmakers in Indigenous Leadership &

Management Business Affairs” program as well as National Film Institute's Art of Business

Management.
